Congress accuses CEO of encouraging hatred among TS-AP people

Hyderabad, October 30: Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Chief Spokesperson Dr. Dasoju Sravan has strongly condemned the statement of Chief Electoral Officer Rajath Kumar that the services of policemen from Andhra Pradesh would not be utilised for Telangana Assembly elections.

Sravan asked the CEO to clarify whether he was following the dictate of caretaker Chief Minister K. Chandrashekhar Rao or performing duties as per the Constitution. He reminded that as per the AP Reorganisation Act, Hyderabad is the joint capital of both the Telugu States for 10 years. Instead of implementing the Act, Rajath Kumar is singing the 'bhajans' of TRS which is not correct, he said.

The Congress leader alleged that the attitude of CEO was creating a regional divide among people to please TRS leaders.. If any individual police from Andhra are indulging in illegal things, the EC can make a complaint and seek an action, but it is improper to typecast entire Andhra Police as illegal and biased. He said by refusing to hire the services of AP Police for election duty, the CEO has insulted the entire police system while sending a wrong message that police personnel could be biased towards their region

Sravan said that there has been an increase in the popularity graph of Congress and TDP after both the parties decided to join hands in next elections. Worried over its falling popularity, TRS leaders are desperately trying to lure people hailing from Seemandhra region. At one side KCR is abusing Andhra People and trying to play divisive politics in the name of Telangana-Seemandhra. On the other side, KTR is touching the feet of Seemandhra people to get their votes.

The Congress leader said there has been a huge contradiction in the TRS stand on Seemandhra people in the recent. While KCR spew venom against Seemandhra people during his speech in the public meeting of Kongara Kalan, KTR gave an entirely different speech in his speech during the recently held 'Mana Andari Hyderabad' event. Similarly, he said KCR tried to incite regional feelings with his speech in Nizamabad. He said the contradictions in speeches and confusing stand clearly show that father-son (KCR-KTR) duo were highly disturbed. He said both KCR and KTR were trying to create an impression that Telangana was a separate country and people of Seemandhra need to take a license from Kalvakuntla to stay here.

Sravan said Hyderabad was a home to people with different origins. He said several descendants of British live in Tarnaka while Malakajgiri is the hub for Tamilians and Malayalis. Similarly, thousands of Rajasthani and Gujarati live in Begum Bazar while people having their origins in Yemen and Saudi Arabia live in Barkas. Is it not the responsibility of the government to ensure their security and welfare? he asked and said all citizens of India have a right to live anywhere in the country irrespective of their religion, region, caste or language.
