Hyderabad, March 21:
Telangana
Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) Chief Spokesperson Dr. Dasoju Sravan alleged that Chief Minister K.
Chandrashekhar Rao was enacting the drama of formation of a Third
Front only to facilitate 'crowning' of his son K. Tarakarama Rao as the next Chief Minister.
Addressing
a press conference at Gandhi Bhavan on Wednesday, Sravan said KCR's sudden move
to launch a Federal Front had nothing to do with his plans to enter the
national politics. He said KCR's victory in 2014 elections was accidental and
therefore, he is still considered a non-entity in national politics. After
acting as a pawn into the hands of Prime Minister Narender Modi and BJP
National President Amit Shah for the last four years, KCR has now started
speaking against them. He said it was only the rising popularity of Congress
president Rahul Gandhi at the national level and TPCC President Uttam Kumar
Reddy in Telangana that forced KCR to think about his own political future. In
order to divert people's attention from his failures, KCR is now talking about
'Third Front' so that he could escape Telangana's affairs by making his son KTR
the Chief Minister. He said the entire game plan is a conspiracy hatched in
connivance with BJP leadership to split anti-Modi votes in next elections.
Sravan
alleged that TRS is playing dubious politics in not supporting no confidence
motion against BJP in Parliament. He also said that TRS agitation in the well of the house of Parliament is an attempt to obstruct the
discussion on no confidence motion and the same has been questioned by Mamata
Banerjee in their meeting, for which KCR had no answer.
Sravan
also released an open letter that he has written to the Chief Minister seeking
explanation on his failures. He said although it was not wrong to aspire for
revolutionary changes at the national level, but such changes should benefit
the nation. However, KCR is proposing to replace the entire Constitution
drafted by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. He said in the name of Third Front, KCR wants to
incept ideas that could harm the unity and integrity of entire nation. He said
the 'Third Front' proposal was mooted at a time when nearly 95% of people
belonging to SC, ST, BC, minorities and other communities have been demanding
their share in power and resources in proportionate to their population. Under
the garb of a new front, KCR wants to suppress the voice of those seeking
social justice, he said.
The
Congress leader asked KCR to explain his definition of "change". He
alleged that KCR has cheated all sections of the society in Telangana through
his false promises and fake claims. Does he want to replicate the same model at
the national level through his proposed 'Federal Font'? he asked.
The
Congress leader said if KCR was really sincere in giving reservation to various
communities in proportionate to their population, then he should first
implement it at his party level. He said KCR should distribute party posts
among SC, ST, BC and minorities in proportionate to their population.
Similarly, he should implement caste-based reservation in his government. He
said these changes do not require any amendments in the Constitution and KCR
could implement them without any legal or bureaucratic hurdles. He also
demanded that KCR should allot 95% of tickets for next Assembly and Lok Sabha
elections to candidates belonging to SC, ST, BC and minorities to prove his
sincerity.
Sravan
also alleged that KCR's was enacting a new drama of having enmity with PM Modi.
"KCR has been an ardent supporter of Modi Government since beginning. He
was the first Chief Minister to support demonitisation. He backed BJP Govt in
implementation of GST. He supported BJP candidates in Presidential and Vice
Presidential elections. KCR was an undeclared ally of BJP Government till a few
days ago. Before launching his new front, KCR must explain to the people the
'secret pact' which he had with PM Modi and what led him to break the
pact," he said.
The
Congress leader said KCR has cheated the Muslims and STs on the promise of 12%
reservation. Having remained mute for the last four years, TRS MPs are now trying
to make some noise in Parliament on reservation issue only in view of
elections. He said TRS Government completely neglected the agriculture sector
which drove over 4,500 farmers to suicide. KCR Government did not pay a single
paisa to the families of farmers who committed suicide although each family was
entitled for a compensation of Rs. 6 lakh as per GO 421. He said neither the
Chief Minister nor any TRS leader even met a farmer's family to at least
express their condolences. He said TRS Government also failed to extract any
benefits from the Central Government. No pressurise was build on Modi
Government to fulfil the promises made in the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act
like a Steel Factory at Bayyaram, AIIMS, Railway Coach Factory, etc.,
Sravan strongly criticised the KCR Government
for not implementing the SC, ST Sub-Plan in a proper manner. He said an amount
of Rs. 10,000 crore was promised to be spent on SC, ST Sub-Plan. However,
during the last four year, a cumulative amount of nearly Rs. 17,483 crore was
spent which is not even 40% of promised funds. Similarly, he said as against
the promise of constructing 2,72,763 units of double bed room houses, only
4,462 houses were constructed by spending just Rs. 770 crore on weaker section
housing. He said that the TRS Government has suppressed the people's rights and
did not allow anyone to speak against its anti-people policies. Dharna Chowk
was removed and political and non-political activists and leaders were
implicated in false cases. While the entire world has been taking measures to
empower women, KCR has set a wrong precedent by not having any woman in his
cabinet. By not having a woman minister, KCR has insulted all women and
expressed suspicion over their abilities and talent.
The Congress leader said that the success of
Congress Praja Chaitanya Bus Yatra and the growing of popularity of Uttam Kumar
Reddy gave shockwaves to KCR who might have expected a smooth sailing in next
elections. "KCR has sensed a clear defeat in next elections. It also means
that his dream of watching his son KTR become the Chief Minister will shatter.
Therefore, by triggering the talk of 'Third Front' KCR is preparing the ground
to quit his post for his son and watch him act as CM at least for a few days
before the entire family packs its bags from Pragathi Bhavan," he said.
Sravan
said that KCR's Third Front idea had no recipients anywhere in the country. Now
it has been proved that neither Mamata Banerjee nor Hemanth Soren offered their
support. As a damage control move, KCR landed in Kolkata as a 'forced guest' to
meet Mamata Banerjee and returned empty handed. He also slammed KCR for taking
a special flight to Kolkata. "KCR should not waste public money to purse
his political goals,
